I was a freshman at the University of Michigan this past year and I applied to JHU as a transfer in March. I won't be hearing back until the end of this month-beginning of June, but I was hoping that someone could let me in on any info they may have about transfers. My GPA on the transcripts I sent in with my app was 3.8 (first semester) and my final GPA for the year is 3.6. I want to major in Near Eastern Studies with a concentration on Egyptology and as far as I have seen from the website, JHU is a leading establishment in that area. Any info anyone can provide will be extremely appreciated; especially if anyone knows about the housing status of transferring Sophomores. Looking at past entries from other hopeful JHU kids, I have a general idea about the campus atmosphere and it seems a lot like UMich, so I'm not too worried about challenging course loads ("no pain-no gain" right?), I'd just like to know if it seems I stand a chance. Again, thanks in advance!
I got accepted! (yay!)
